Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For Teaser Posters

With production slated to start on two Robert Rodriguez films this year, Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, promotional posters for the both of them have suddenly appeared online.

As teaser posters they don’t really explain a lot, more delivering on our expectations. Machete Kills suggests that it will be just as violent as its predecessor, while the blood red text and rainy background for A Dame to Kill For manages to convey the stylish noir look associated with Frank Miller’s graphic novel. They do at least tells us that production on these two titles have definitely stepped up a gear, particularly in regards to Sin City’s A Dame to Kill For. After all the talk during the last few years about Rodriguez being interested in delivering a follow up, the poster makes for concrete confirmation that the wheels are definitely turning.

“I have wanted to re-team with Frank Miller and return to the world he created since the day we wrapped the original,” said Rodriquez, “but have felt a duty to the fans to wait until we had something truly exceptional that would meet and exceed what have become epic expectations. A Dame To Kill For will certainly be worth the wait.”

Shooting will begin on Machete Kills later this month, and will see Rodriguez reunite with the wrong Mexican, Danny Trejo, as well as Michelle Rodriguez. Joining them will be Demián Bichir, Amber Heard, Sofia Vergara and Mel Gibson. This will be followed straight away by A Dame to Kill For. Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson have already been confirmed to be on board for the sequel, reprising their roles as Marv and Gail respectively

Both Machete Kills and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For are expected to be released sometime in 2013.
