Need For Speed Most Wanted to be developed by Criterion

EA have revealed that the next Need For Speed title to be released will be called Need For Speed: Most Wanted, and will be developed by Criterion.

The news comes from the official Need For Speed facebook page along with the first screenshot of the game (above).

Fans of the series will know that the original Need For Speed: Most Wanted was released onto consoles in 2005, but this is not the first time that EA have reused a title in the series. In 1998 the original Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit was released onto consoles, but in 2010 the title was used again for a game in the series, a game which was also developed by Criterion.

We don’t know much about the upcoming title at the moment, but judging from the screenshot we’re guessing that there will be more high-speed police chases and a slight emphasis on crashing to look forward to. With Criterion as the developer you can bet that it’s going to be intense.

More information will be released on the game at E3 next week so be sure to check with us for more info, but until then let us know what you think of this news in the comments below!
