Skyfall Theatrical Trailer

“007 reporting for duty,” says Daniel Craig. The 23rd James Bond film Skyfall is now just a few months away and Sony Pictures have released a new theatrical trailer.

The official (and kinda brief) synopsis originally told us that, “Bond’s loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.” In the trailer it’s revealed that M has managed to put the life of her agents at risk. We finally witness the villain Silva, played by Javier Bardem, and it appears that he has some history with M. Ben Wishsaw as Q is also introduced (note the word for word reference to Goldfinger here), handing Bond his new Walther PPK.

As expected, there is action aplenty. Along with the usual shooting, jumping and explosions, there is also the crazy, with Bond chasing a suspect through the London Underground as well as completely ripping apart the back of a train carriage.

It’s worth noting that two trailers have been released. As well as a UK / international trailer, there is also a US version, which offers a slightly different variation of footage and music. Both are available below for your viewing pleasure.

Directed by Sam Mendes, the film also stars Naomi Harris, Ralph Fiennes and Berenice Marlohe. Skyfall opens in the UK on October 26th and in the US on November 9th.
