Iron Man 3: TV Spots, Joss Whedon and Spoilers

There’s just a few weeks left until the release of Iron Man 3 so naturally the Internet is abuzz with new TV spots, news and the odd spoiler here or there. For starters Joss Whedon got to see a cut of the film recently and he’s worried, but in a good way. Kevin Feige spoke about the movie and Whedon’s thoughts.

There are a lot of suits in this movie. While it is both a movie in which he spends quite a bit of time outside of the suit, as you see it’s not working and he’s — and he’s with Ty in Tennessee, by the end of it we reveal that underneath the house, which is now covered with rubble, he’s got dozens and dozens of suits.

And once, throughout the course of the movie, and all that rubble gets pulled aside by construction cranes, just when he needs them, he calls them to the rescue and we have what I think is the biggest most action-packed finale we’ve had. I showed the film to Joss Whedon, who is our writer-director of Avengers and who is currently working on Avengers 2, and he saw the finale of this and he goes, ‘Now what am I supposed to do now? What am I going to do in Avengers 2?’

So it’s all sounding pretty good so far. And to get us extra excited there has been TV Spot after TV Spot, giving us a little bit more every time.

The following information could probably be classed as common knowledge by this point (especially if Tumblr is a frequent haunt for you). But it’s the kind of thing you might prefer to be surprised by. You’ve been warned.

In recent years certain journalists have cottoned on that new plot details for films could be determined by looking at their LEGO sets and other merchandise. Iron Man 3 was no different and the LEGO sets for the movie supposedly depicted Pepper Potts wearing the Iron Man armour. This was later confirmed with Gwyneth Paltrow who even talked about it in an interview.

I didn’t mind wearing the suit at all… I thought it was light and perfectly comfortable and my children thought I was extremely cool. They were here on a day where I was in it, so they were trying it on and when my son saw me in the suit, he had the biggest eyes, so it was definitely worth it.

And as if that wasn’t enough, yet another TV Spot revealed a glimpse of the moment itself. By the looks of things this won’t be the Rescue suit comic fans wanted to see but it’s still really cool.

Is that enough excitement for ya? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
