First photo of Matt Ryan as John Constantine released!

Back in February, we reported that Layer Cake actor Matt Ryan was chosen by NBC to play John Constantine in their Constantine pilot. The social networks were buzzing last night when a photo of the Constantine cast and crew appeared on the Facebook group, Slates for Sarah. Within hours, Deadline revealed the first “official” photos from NBC, showing Ryan in full costume.

He looks good, right? Sure, it’s not a difficult look to pull off, but comparing his photo with the image of DC Comics’ occult detective above, it’s pretty close. The Constantine pilot from Warner Bros. TV is being written by Dexter executive producer Daniel Cerone from a project he co-penned with Warner Bros’ David S. Goyer, the writer behind many DC adaptations: Goyer’s credits go from Batman Begins right up to the future Justice League feature film!
