Dan Slott announces “Spider-Verse” featuring “EVERY Spider-Man EVER”

"If you don't have 'Spider' in your name, get out. We've got like a zillion cast members!" - Dan Slott

“If you don’t have ‘Spider’ in your name, get out. We’ve got like a zillion cast members!” – Dan Slott

The news was revealed during a Marvel Mystery Liveblog. Hosted on Marvel.com, editor Ben Morse was blogging alongside senior editor Nick Lowe, associate editor Marc Strom, and superior Spider-Man writer Dan Slott. They announced the Spider-Verse, which will feature EVERY Spider-Man from EVERY universe this November. The story will be covered by Dan Slott and art by Olivier Coipel in Amazing Spider-Man and spilling across into other titles as well.

They’ve confirmed many characters, obvious ones include Peter Parker and Miles Morales, but that’s not all. Slott went onto explain: “EVERY Spider-Man EVER wasn’t enough! We’re bringing in new ones that you’ve never seen before!”

Regarding the villain of the piece Slott teased that, “it’s someone we haven’t seen in spider-titles in a while, but whenever they show up, you’re guaranteed a slobberknocker of epic proportions. There’s something about this character that we don’t know yet, and it threatens the existence of all Spider-Men everywhere.” The villain they did announce was the superhuman Morlun, explaining he has a big part to play in the Spider-Verse. Slott concluded the blog saying, “EVERY Spider-Man EVER against Morlun in an epic war.”

Slott’s idea for the series has spawned from the story and script he wrote for the Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions video game and thought, “Why can’t we do this, but bigger? So I’ve been working on it as far back as that.”

You can get your first taste of the Spider-Verse for FREE from Dan Slott and Giuseppe Camuncoli on Free Comic Book Day in April. Spider-Verse will run directly in The Amazing Spider-Man title beginning in November’s issue #9 with tie-ins to be announced.
