Guinness World Record Attempt: X-Men Cosplayers

X-Men Days of Future Past (Mystique and Wolverine crop)With the summer blockbuster’s beginning to rear their heads with the latest superhero offering, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, there’s also another Marvel superhero film on the horizon, X-Men: Days of Future Past. To celebrate the premiere of the film in the United Kingdom, an organised frenzy for X-Men cosplayers will be held to break the Guinness World Record for the most X-Men cosplayers in one place.

On Monday 12th May 2014, the cosplayers will begin meeting in Leicester Square at 12pm, dressed as their favourite characters from the X-Men.

The cosplayers will be looking to set a new record, with 250 people dressed up as X-Men characters needed to earn themselves a name in the famed book. There are no specifications for the version of character you choose to cosplay as, so long as your character is associated with the X-Men. Along with the record attempt, there will be a recreation of Nickleback’s Rockstar’ video, with an interesting twist and a special surprise.

Recently Marvel made their way into the record books with their comic ‘Deadpool #27’ in which Deadpool gets married. The cover set the record for having the most comic characters in a single-issue cover, with a reported 232 characters. This cosplay record attempt could be yet again another record Marvel breaks in 2014.
