Germany’s K-Culture Festival Add’s BTOB To The Guaranteed Line Up

We previously reported on one of the biggest pieces of news to come to Europe from the K-pop world, that a K-Culture Festival would be held in Germany hosting an event with some big named K-pop idols. Originally the line up was Ailee, MBLAQ, BTS, VIXX, Block B, and GOT7. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances BTS had to cancel their appearance. But taking their place very swiftly are Cube Entertainment’s BTOB.

At the beginning of 2014 Ailee made her comeback with her song “Singing Got Better“. In the later half of 2013 Ailee had a huge scandal incident, but unlike many other scandals that happen within the K-pop industry, this one actually made her into a stronger person and gained her supporters and fans worldwide who sent her encouraging messages to not give up. Through this she topped the charts and gained the loudest cheers amongst the many idols that attended the year end events. Ailee has a lot to offer K-pop fans, she has an absolutely beautiful voice that is both powerful yet controlled. Her music ranges from pop and ballad with hints of rock and roll. She is a complete all rounded great entertainer.

JYP Entertainment’s new boy group GOT7 only debuted in January 2013 and already they have garnered an amazing amount of attention from fans worldwide. Consisting of JB, JR, Mark, Jackson, Youngjae, BamBam and Yugyeom these guys bought some comedic entertainment to the K-pop world. JB and JR were previously known as the duo JJProject. Their debut release “Girls Girls Girls” became a hit for the clever gymnastics and use of cute reactions during their choreography.

BTOB have had a really great run with their popularity from their first release “Insane” back in 2012, all the way to their latest release in 2014 with “Beep Beep“. They have performed on stage with their label mates for the Cube United concerts and hosted their own ‘MTV BTOB Diary’ where they showed their hilarious and fun lives. Consisting of Eunkwang, Minhyuk, Changsub, Hyunsik, Peniel, Ilhoon and Sungjae you’re guaranteed to find a member that meets your preference through looks, vocals or even personality, each member is unique.

Being known as the creation of worldwide superstar Bi Rain, MBLAQ have an array of very talented members. Being led by Seungho who is known for being an all round entertainer, he is the leader of the group. Lee Joon has gotten the bug for acting and has starred in some big name Korean television dramas and movies. Thunder is known for being the little brother of Dara from YG Entertainment’s girl group 2NE1. Member G.O has released his own solo works and has worked on the soundtrack for many Korean dramas, and Mir is known for writing the lyrics for MBLAQ’s releases “You’re My +” and “Can’t Come Back“. Recently the boys made their comeback with the release “Be A Man” showcasing a whole new style and genre to come from them.

Zico, Kyung, P.O, Taeil, B-Bomb, Ukwon and Jaehyo make up the the insane and quirky group Block B. Known for their crazy yet fun music videos, and being extremely close with their fans, it’s a given that these guys will put on a great show. Recently Block B have released their latest song “Jackpot” which has a little more meaning behind the name than you first think. The release is their 7th single, there are 7 members and they are under their new company 7Seasons – thus creating the jackpot number 777.

And lastly we have VIXX the six membered boy band from JellyFish Entertainment. We are currently waiting with bated breathe for more information of the boys comeback, but currently the members are doing solo activities. Leader N is appearing in Korean drama “Hotel King” and Hongbin is starring in his own drama “good day“. Ravi travelled to the USA to star in Chad Future’s latest release “Rock The World“. Hyuk was featured on Korean TV show “Return To The Jungle” whilst Leo is currently one of the lead main characters in the musical adaptation of “Full House“. Through all of this the last member Ken is working on lyrics and production for the new album. VIXX are known for their dark concepts, their latest release being “VooDoo Doll” proving a little bit of horror and gore can bring a whole new feel to a typical K-pop boy group.

So there we have it, a really nice selection of different styles and genres within the K-pop industry. This is possibly one of the biggest steps towards Europe being noticed as a great contender for hosting festivals and large scale concerts. Tickets go on sale on the 23rd April, and you can find all the details you need below. Remember that these events can only happen if fans attend and show support.
