Choosing Sides – In The Flesh Series 2 Trailer

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming second series of BBC Three zombie drama In The Flesh.

Series 1, which aired in March last year, saw resurrected teenager Kieren Walker (Luke Newberry) battling with “Partially Deceased Syndrome” (or PDS), along with numerous others around the world who inexplicably found themselves brought back from the dead. After undergoing extensive therapy and medical treatment to stave off his brain-gorging zombie instincts, Kieren returns to his home in the run-down, northern town of Roarton, where he must learn to deal not only with the mental and physical effects of his condition, but also with the local community’s fears and prejudices about his kind, as well as with his own guilt and the impact his early death had on his family.

Set around nine months later, Series 2 will present growing tensions between the living and the undead in the wider world outside Roarton. Threatening to destroy the “fragile peace” between them is a political party called Victus who, according to writer Dominic Mitchell, prefer to be seen as “pro-living” rather than “anti-undead”.  Support for Victus leads in turn to an increased backlash from PDS sufferers in the form of the ULA or Undead Liberation Army. Check out the trailer below.

In The Flesh Series 2 is due to be broadcast in May. For more information, visit the BBC’s In the Flesh site.
