Patrick Stewart to lead Seth MacFarlane’s Blunt Talk

Patrick StewartDigital Spy revealed that entertainment giant Seth MacFarlane will have Patrick Stewart play the role of Walter Blunt in his new comedy Blunt Talk. Blunt is a British TV host on a nightly cable news show. He’s also a borderline alcoholic and has to juggle his hectic work life along with his home life.

This casting choice won’t come as a surprise to many of you; Stewart has been working with MacFarlane for almost ten years now, lending his sultry British tones to shows like Family Guy and more notably American Dad, in which he provides the voice of Stan Smith’s boss, CIA deputy director Avery Bullock.

Blunt Talk has been given a straight-to-series order of 20 episodes over two seasons from Starz, the network that brought you Spartacus and most recently, Black Sails.

The show is expected to premiere next year, but if you’re itching to see Captain Jean-Luc Picard a little sooner, fear not! Patrick Stewart returns to cinemas on 22nd May, reprising the role of Charles Xavier in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
