Xbox One Without Kinect Announced

When the Xbox One was officially revealed and many of the details were let known to the public, one of the key issues involved having your Kinect plugged in to actually use the console. While that rule was soon abolished, it was too late to stop the shipping of the Xbox One without the Kinect.

However in a post on the official Xbox website, Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, announced that the Xbox will be “Delivering More Choices for Fans” and there will be a cheaper model sold without the Kinect, priced at $399 in the United States, and £349 in the United Kingdom. A standalone Kinect for the Xbox One will be available, but a price has yet to be announced.

The new Xbox One offering was not the only piece of information delivered. There will also be exclusive discounts for customers with Xbox Live Gold, launching in June. It will be entitled ‘Deals with Gold’ that will offer savings of up to 50%-75% off certain titles, kicking off with Forza Motorsport 5 and Ryse: Son of Rome.

With the new ‘Deals with Gold’, and a cheaper model of the Xbox One, do you feel Microsoft will entice more gamers to the Xbox One?
