Hunter x Hunter 2011 meets the end of production

The news has been coming closer and closer until now it’s completely inevitable. The production of the popular anime title Hunter x Hunter is coming to an end very shortly.

The series began airing in 2011 following the conclusion of the 1999 adaptation that ended its run with 62 episodes and has continued swiftly throughout the past few years. However, as each episode animates roughly 2-3 chapters of Yoshihiro Togashi’s original manga every week, not to mention the mega and minor hiatus’ the author often takes, it’s not surprising that the anime has now almost caught up with the manga. Fans around the world had been expecting this: however, it was not known whether the team would continue the story with original content or simply take a break. All is now confirmed and production will be wrapping up as Hunter x Hunter reaches its concluding episode, episode 148, in a mere 6 weeks. There is currently no news to suggest that the anime will be picked back up in the future.
