In a news piece released yesterday, CoroCoro Magazine revealed three more Mega Evolutions that are set to feature in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, as well as some updates on legendary weather trio Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza. Sharpedo, Camerupt and Gallade are the are the latest to join the ever-expanding list of monsters with super-powered, in-battle forms.

corocoro_galladeAccording to translations by Serebii, Mega Sharpedo will have the ability Strong Jaw, and all of Sharpedo’s stats will be boosted in its Mega form. Meanwhile, Mega Camerupt will possess the ability Sheer Force. Upon transformation, Camerupt’s speed will be decreased, but all other stats will be boosted. Finally, Mega Gallade’s special ability will be Inner Focus, though it’s not yet clear how Gallade’s stats will be affected by the change.

In other news, as with the Mega forms of other Pokémon, we now know that both Groudon and Kyogre will gain new abilities in their Primal states, with Primal Kyogre initiating Strong Rain through its Sea of Beginnings ability, while Primal Groudon will be able to use Land of Endings to create Strong Sunlight during battle. Apparently, the pair will also acquire a couple of new moves: Primal Groudon will learn the move Cliff’s Blade and Primal Kyogre will use something called Origin Wave. The article also contains the first mention of the third part of the weather trio, Rayquaza, who is said to “hold a secret to Mega Evolution”.

Lastly, there’s a mention of the demo version of the game. In the demo, players will encounter a Mega Evolution for the first time and, even more excitingly, they’ll be able to transfer this Pokémon, as well as any items they collect, onto the main games once they arrive. There’s a rather intriguing suggestion that something special will happen for trainers who play the demo version every day, though we can only guess at what this might be…
