Resident Evil: Revelations 2 to be released as four downloadable episodes – first trailer

Resident Evil Revelations 2 (Claire Refield and Moira Burton)

After a cryptic teaser with “hidden secrets”, Capcom have now released a trailer for Resident Evil: Revelations 2 that features footage from the game itself.

The game centres on one of the original survivors of Raccoon City, Claire Redfield. She has since joined Terra Save, a non-government organisation that helps the victims of biological and chemical weapons. When Terra Save’s headquarters are attacked, Claire and her co-workers, including best friend Moira Burton, are captured and taken to a deserted island, where they are locked up in prison cells. Claire and Moira must now figure out where they are, what’s going on, and try to escape.

Capcom have revealed that the game will be released as a weekly series of four downloadable episodes for $5.99, each one ending with a dramatic cliff-hanger. There is also the option to download the complete season with additional content for $24.99 (prices for the UK will likely be a bit higher). After the release of the fourth episode, a retail version of the game will be available on disc, which will include even more additional content.

The new trailer features Claire and Moira getting captured and waking up in what appears to be a deserted prison (Claire also has a cool bracelet on her wrist – which might tell her whether or not she is infected). Upon exploring they encounter Afflicted creatures. It also hints that someone appears to be ‘watching’ Claire and Moira’s every move.

Players can switch between the characters Claire and Moira, with Claire able to make use of weapons, while Moira can use a torch to blind the Afflicted.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is released in early 2015 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
