Teaser for Momoiro Clover Z and KISS collaboration Yume no Ukiyo ni Saitemina

Momoiro Clover Z vs KISSThe official YouTube channel for the five member Japanese idol group Momoiro Clover Z has uploaded a teaser video for Yume no Ukiyo ni Saitemina, their upcoming collaboration with the American rock band KISS.

The track is written by Paul Stanley and Yuho Iwasato, and composed by Stanley with Greg Collins. The video explains how Momoiro Clover Z vs KISS is one of the biggest collaborations in music history. KISS also explain that they will be performing with Momoiro Clover Z as a part of their 40th anniversary tour on 3 March at the Tokyo Dome.

Two behind the scenes videos have been uploaded on YouTube.

KISS have uploaded an edited nine minute behind the scenes look during the production of the track Samurai Son. The clip shows just how much work Paul Stanley puts into his songwriting and concludes with extra footage from the upcoming video.

There is also a 20 minute video that shows a behind the scenes look at the making of the music video for Yume no Ukiyo ni Saitemina, which was recorded at Las Vegas, with KISS and Momoiro Clover Z meeting on the set.

Two physical CD versions of Yume no Ukiyo ni Saitemina will be available to purchase from 28 January 2015 – a Momoclo edition, which includes a Blu-ray disc with the music video, and a KISS edition, which includes the additional track Samurai Son. The single will also be released on iTunes worldwide.

While it could be argued that this collaboration is probably jumping on the J-pop and rock fusion popularised by BABYMETAL, they have certainly garnered a lot of attention with this. What are your thoughts on the collaboration?
