Evangelion 3.33 UK Release Indefinitely Postponed

EvangelionQ-722x1024Back in July, MCM Buzz reported that the hotly anticipated UK release of anime series Evangelion 3.33: You Can (Not) Redo had been unexpectedly delayed until February this year. At the time, the announcement caused some frustration amongst fans, sparking a Twitter conversation that parodied the series’ title in various ways. Nevertheless, the tweets were largely light-hearted, suggesting a feeling that the eventual release would be worth the wait.

Sadly, however, it seems that fans of the show are set to be disappointed once again, as Evangelion‘s UK distrubutors, Manga Entertainment, have today announced that the release has been postponed until further notice.

The latest instalment in the Rebuild of Evangelion series, Evangelion 3.33 is part of a complete remake of the original Neon Genesis Evangelion anime. It follows the story of a teenage boy named Shinji who is recruited to pilot an Evangelion, a giant bio-machine designed to fight evil beings in a post-apocalyptic Tokyo.

We still don’t know for definite what’s causing the problem, but the good news is that the folks at Manga have confirmed they will still be releasing this title at some point – they’re just not sure exactly when it will happen. The team has also apologised to its customers for a delay described as “unavoidable”. Check back on MCM Buzz for further updates.
