Swap out Between Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman in Batman: Arkham Knight

Gotham’s most dangerous crime-fighting family will return for a new game, and players will finally be able to control all of them. Warner Bros’ Interactive has unveiled a new trailer for the hugely anticipated third act of Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham trilogy, and it looks like Arkham Knight has taken a leaf out of Grand Theft Auto V‘s book with its new ‘Dual Play’ character swap dynamic.

The trailer shows Batman teaming up with Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman to pull off some devastating moves on the unwitting thugs of Gotham City. Warner Bros’ has promised that the feature will give gamers the chance to seamlessly switch between Batman and his caped, cowled and leather-clad counterparts.

The trailer also features Azrael, a vigilante in his own right and one-time apprentice of Batman warning the Dark Knight of the dangers ahead. The return of Azrael means things have got bad, and the confirmation that Jason Todd, Dick Grayson and Azrael himself will appear in the game brings an entire host of questions to the fore. With the identity of the Arkham Knight still under wraps, and if the comics (particularly Tony S. Daniel’s excellent Battle For the Cowl arc) are anything to go by, it’s possible that one of Batman’s most trusted allies might become his greatest foe. In Rocksteady’s capable hands, the answers are sure to be mind-blowing, and with Gotham crumbling around Batman and his valiant vigilantes, there are sure to be casualties. In any case, with each trailer introducing more layers and character arcs, the scope of the Arkham Knight story is looking grander by the second, and we could not be more excited about it!

Batman: Arkham Knight will be availale from the 23rd of June for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
