S.H.I.E.L.D. actors assemble! Following the announcement that Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Elizabeth Henstridge will be attending this May’s MCM London Comic Con, we can now confirm that the actor will be joined by her co-star Iain de Caestecker, who plays fellow scientist Leo Fitz.

Two halves of the genius double-act “Fitzsimmons”, Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons (Henstridge) work closely together to solve their team’s technical and medical problems. Over the course of the first series, the two grow close, only to have their personal and professional relationships later strained by a near-fatal incident. Ever self-sacrificing and prepared to stand up for his friends, Fitz makes a heroic decision to save Jemma’s life by risking his own, resulting in oxygen-starvation that leaves his memory damaged.

Hailing from Glasgow, Iain de Caestecker is, along with Henstridge, one of the two British members of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team. He began acting as a child, appearing in The Little Vampire and later in TV shows like Coronation Street and Lip Service. In 2011, he starred as protagonist and spirit-seeing “Angelic” Paul Roberts in the BBC Three sci-fi series The Fades. The same year, he also played the lead in the BBC’s Young James Herriot, a performance which got him nominated for a British Academy Television Award. Later, he appeared in an adaptation of James Herbert’s The Secret of Crickley Hall as groundskeeper Percy Judd.

On the big screen, he has played supporting roles in John S. Baird’s recent movie adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s Filth, starring James McAvoy and Jamie Bell, and in indie rom-com Not Another Happy Ending, which stars Karen Gillan and Stanley Weber. In 2012, he appeared in Up There, which won the Best Film at the British Academy Scotland Awards, and in 2014, he starred as Bones in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut Lost River, appearing alongside Christina Hendricks, Matt Smith, Saoirse Ronan and Eva Mendes.

Over the course of the MCM London weekend, Iain de Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge will be signing autographs and participating in panel discussions.
