Jonathan Banks will make his DC debut as James Gordon

Rocksteady have let their stellar voice cast for the hugely anticipated Batman: Arkham Knight emerge from the foggy streets of Gotham. Joining Rocksteady for the first time are Breaking Bad’s grizzly Jonathan Banks as Gotham’s gritty police veteran James Gordon; John Noble (The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, Fringe, Sleepy Hollow) who will don The Scarecrow’s ragged hood; Ashley Greene (The Twilight Saga) will hijack the cloud as Gordon’s daughter Barbara and Batman’s cyber-sidekick Oracle, whilst Scott Porter (Friday Night Lights, Heart of Dixie) takes to the streets as Nightwing.

Batman heavyweight Kevin Conroy will reprise his iconic role as Batman, whilst Troy Baker returns to his Arkham City role of Two-Face, after voicing the Joker in Warner Bros’ Arkham Origins. Voice actor royalty Nolan North returns as Penguin and Tara Strong will return as the mischievous masochist Harley Quinn.

Following this announcement a video with Kevin Conroy and new cast members Noble, Banks and Greene in the studio was released named “The Voices of Arkham”. The video shows the actors recording some of their lines, followed by short testimonials on why they took their role and what it was like slipping into these well-established DC characters. Our favourite part might well be Banks exclaiming out of nowhere, “Dude, look at that!” The high standard of voice talent in the Batman: Arkham games has placed the series at the forefront of the gaming world since Arkham Asylum astounded players in 2009, and it looks like there’s going to be no compromises as Arkham Knight takes the Bat into the next generation.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be available worldwide on PS4, Xbox One and PC from the 23rd of June 2015.
