Speed Racer to receive modern touch in forthcoming remake

SpeedRacerLogoThe anime has influenced everyone, from artists to voice actors such as Vic Mignogna, so the news that the now classic anime series, Speed Racer (Mach Go Go Go)  is getting a remake is understandably exciting news.

The revelation came via the recent summer issue of Total Licensing Magazine, a magazine that deals with global art licensing. Their report reveals that the series will be made by Tatsunoko Production and will be developed with a modern audience in mind.

What this means for the character who first appeared in manga form in 1966 and has since been adapted to both anime and film form, is anybody’s guess. So long as it does not follow the lines of the 2008 Wachowski film version, then it certainly should be interesting to see what plans the company has for its revival.

With little information yet revealed about the series or even a date for the new release, there is nothing but speculation to be had about the show for now. One thing that we can safely assume is that it will likely appear in 2016, as this would mark the 50th anniversary of Speed Racer’s first manga appearance.
