Bethesda at E3 2015 round-up

Making their mark in the gaming industry with classic games such as The Evil Within, Wolfenstein, Elder Scrolls, Doom, Rage, Prey, Quake, Dishonoured and the Fallout series, Bethesda solidified their position as one of the most anticipated companies at E3 for 2015. With Fallout 4 and a new Doom being teased to fans there were also rumours of a new Dishonoured as well as a lot more content.

So what did Bethesda have on offer? Below is a breakdown of the conference and what Bethesda are hoping to provide their ever loyal fans in 2015 – 2016.

  • It’s definitely coming, and it’s coming pretty soon: Bethesda revealed that the game will be available on November 10th 2015!
  • Fully customisable male and female characters: At the click of a button you can create the most beautiful (or the most grotesque) playable character. A thing to remember is that when you customise the main characters in the beginning, it will actually effect how the baby grows up, and how the child will look like both of its parents.
  • Without giving it away fully Bethesda gave us an idea of what happens, but without its context: You’re in the normal world, nuclear bombs go off and you head to Vault 111. Skip to 200 years later and you’re in the middle of a wasteland set in Boston, Massachusetts. From there the game is at your beck and call.
  • Fully customisable environment: Not only can you put together your own hideouts in pre-determined locations around the world, but you also get to customise your weapons to a whole new level. Start collecting all that junk and turn it into the most badass weaponry! (Not to mention you can make your new puppy companion a dog house to keep them happy as well).
  • The Special Edition: Yes, the one thing that everyone is talking about. The Pip-Boy will be making an appearance in Fallout 4, but keeping fresh and giving something a little different to the audience, the accessory will now have a mini-game setting. But this isn’t why people are shouting about the special edition release of the game, oh no – it will come with your very own physical pip-boy which can house your smart phone where you can download a special app that makes the accessory act like the one you see in the game. At £100 it’s worth every penny.

  • Bethesda’s handheld phone app for iOS: But do not fret Android users, although a date was not given as to when, the game will be coming to Android.
  • It’s out already and there are tutorials on YouTube already too.
  • What’s your role as the “Vault Overseer”?: It’s your job to create a vault which can house a number of people – Think SIMS, but a bit more gruff. You have full control over what happens in the vault you have built and it’s down to you to keep everything running smoothly and to keep everyone inside happy.
  • How easy is the gameplay?: As a click and drag game, you can bet it’s not to hard to play. Mostly strategic and thought provoking, but easily explained during the tutorial mode.

  • Who to choose?: You will have the chance to choose between Corvo Attano or Emily Kaldwin to guide your adventure in the coastal city of Karnaca.
  • Individuality as assassins is the key: Dependant on who you choose as your main character, they will be given their own unique set of powers, weapons and tools.
  • Deciding your approach to the game will have an impact to the last result: The game is going to be another strategic game where your actions will have consequences, and thus change the gameplay every time you play.
  • Visually stunning: Jumping into a steampunk inspired world with a hint of magic in the air, the visuals are beyond their previous releases and pleasing to the eye. You will be awestruck to see what is just around the next corner – and with new enemies to fight in new combinations, what’s not to love about this release?
  • Dishonoured Definitive Edition: With enhanced graphics, available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, The bundle which will include all game content such as Dunwall City Trials, The Knife Of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches and Void Walker’s Arsenal DLC, will be priced at £29.99 and available in the UK on August 28th 2015.
  • Dishonoured 2 is set for release in spring 2016 where it will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

  • Free-To-Play strategy card game: As most have been saying, it’s Bethesda’s version of Blizzard’s “Hearthstone”, but done to the storyline and lore of The Elder Scrolls.
  • Available on PC and iPad: But with limited information it doesn’t look like this game will be available on Android any time soon.
  • More updates on the game coming soon: But if you can’t wait, pop over to the game’s official Facebook and Twitter

  • Faster combat: Keeping with the theme of previous games, this is going to be very fast paced and quick decisions are needed.
  • The old classics are back: Yep – the BFG makes an appearance once again.
  • Multiplayer change up: From Mars to Hell, the multiplayer options have just become faster, bigger and better. With new maps and an endless unlimited collection of customisable maps, it’s going to be a thrill ride.
  • Doom SnapMap: The new name for a fully customisable mapping system where you as the gamer get to create the setting, create the mode and create imaginative gameplay. It is available over all platforms, in-game, and free to be shared with friends and players around the world.
