RIP Susan Sheridan, The Original Voice Of Hitchhicker’s Trillian

Actress Susan Sheridan, who was the voice of Trillian in the original radio version of The Hitchhicker’s Guide To The Galaxy, passed away on Saturday at the age of 68.


She recently reprised the role on stage for The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy Radio Show Live theatre tour in 2012.

That show’s producer, Dirk Maggs Tweeted: “Deeply saddened that our dear@susietwoshoe Susan Sheridan – Trillian in Hitchhiker’s – has died peacefully at home.”

Actress Susan Penhaligon also Tweeted a tribute, saying, “My dear, dear friend Susan Sheridan has died peacefully at home. We’ll miss your amazing spirit and giggles Sue.”

A prominent voice actress and also a voice coach, Sheridan also played Princess Elionwy in Disney’s The Black Cauldron as well as working on such children’s shows as The Family-Ness, Noddy’s Toyland Adventures and The Moomins.

Newcastle-born Sheridan and trained at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she won the Malvern Prize for comedy. She is survived by her husband, musician Max Brittain and three daughters.

So long, Susan, and thanks for all the voices.
