Hulk Was In Civil War Then Marvel Had Other Ideas, Says Mark Ruffalo

The Hulk was originally going to feature in next year’s superhero-packed Captain America: Civil War but then Marvel decided to remove him and save him for something else. So says Hulk actor himself, Mark Ruffalo, in an interview with BadTaste.

“The reason is too great to be revealed in this movie [Civil War],” says Ruffalo. “I was in the script but then they removed my character. They don’t want to reveal where is he and why. I don’t even know if Hulk will be back soon.”

So we’re going to have to wait a while longer to learn where Banner and “the other guy” landed after the fight at the end of Age Of Ultron.

It’s tempting to hope that Marvel might have finally decided to make another solo Hulk film; it still seems criminal that the best movie Banner hasn’t had a film of his own. If not that, then when might we see him next? Seems very unlikely he’s in Doctor Strange (even though they used to hang out in The Defenders) because we’d have heard by now. He’d have to have landed a very long way away to appear to Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 unless Marvel is planning a  sneaky Planet Hulk crossover. Avengers: Infinity Wars Part I seems most likely but who knows?

Set for release in the United States on May 6, 2016, Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier and Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther.

Maybe there just wasn’t room for Hulk too?

Captain America: Civil War is due for release in the UK on 29 April 2016.
