Tom Cruise Reteams With Edge Of Tomorrow Director For Luna Park

doug_liman_tom_cruiseTom Cruise is reteaming with Edge Of Tomorrow director Doug Liman for the sci-fi adventure Luna Park. It’s been a pet project for Liman for some years now (it was first set up at Dreamworks in 2007), but with the power of Cruise behind it, Luna Park has finally been given the greenlight by a new regime at Paramount, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Luna Park tells the story of a renegade group of former space employees, led by an Eastern European woman, who travel the world, stealing space equipment in an attempt to go back to the moon to acquire an energy source. The last thing they need is an ex-NASA employee.

Cruise currently is only on board to help Liman develop Luna Park but will have first dibs on starring. As well as Edge Of Tomorrow, the pair are also working together on Mena – a CIA vs drug runners in the ’80 flick – which is now in postproduction with a January 2017 release date. Cruise also stars in the Mission: Impossible and Jack Reacher franchises for Paramount.
