BUZZ News Shorts: Batman V Superman, SPECTRE, Captain America: Civil War & More

••• In the light of recent rumours that Warners, so impressed with Affleck, has demanded more Batman in Batman V Superman, director Zack Snyder has confirmed to The Daily Beast that Batman v Superman will emphasise the Dark Knight over the Man of Steel but claims that this was the plan all along (hell, his name comes first in the title): “Only in that because it’s a different Batman than the Batman that was in the Chris Nolan movies, so we have a little bit more explaining to do – and you just had a whole Superman movie… But I think only in that way, because you need to understand where Batman is with everything. And that’s more toward the beginning, but it evens back out as it goes on.” [via Coming Soon]

••• Elsewhere, in his capacity as Godfather of the DC shared cinematic universe, Zack Snyder has told that he would love to see George Miller direct a DC superhero movies (which might make up for the fact that his version of Justice League bit the dust back in the mid-noughties): “No one would say that the best movie of the year isn’t Fury Road,” says Snyder. “It’s just a f***ing great movie. George doing one of the DC movies? Oh my God, absolutely. George can do anything he wants, in my opinion.” [via]

••• Here’s a new TV trailer for the upcoming James Bond blockbuster, SPECTRE. Which is nice.

AP-03142_R.JPG••• Scarlet Widow actress Elizabeth Olsen, who became a big-screen Avenger in Age Of Ultron, reckons that next year’s clash of the superheroes in Captain America: Civil War is going to be the best Marvel movie yet. “I think it’s going to be the best one, no, no, but for real,” she tells Premiere. “I am very excited to see it for myself. I only worked on set for five weeks, so I wasn’t there for the majority of it, but Daniel Brühl is an incredible actor and he’s playing the main villain in it. He’s incredible. It’s a movie about people as opposed to robots this time, so it’s darker and it’s allowed to be darker because it gets more in the mindset of humans rather than machines.”

••• 20th Century Fox has released a “faux” documentary video from the world of Ridley Scott’s The Martian showing astronaut Mark Watney’s (Matt Damon) training regime.

••• The final two films in the Divergent film series have had name changes. They were previously called The Divergent Series: Allegiant – Part 1 and The Divergent Series: Allegiant – Part 2 but they will henceforth be known as The Divergent Series: Allegiant and The Divergent Series: Ascendant. Don’t you feel better now? ••• File under rumour: /Film is reporting that various sites are naming Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’s Rebecca Ferguson as front runner to star as Captain Marvel in the 20th Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
