Joel-Kinnaman-in-Robocop••• Although the Joel Kinnaman-starring reboot of RoboCop only had a middling box office performance around the world (and tanked completely in the all-important US) according to sources at Den Of Geek, Sony is accepting pitches for RoboCop 2 while not actively developing the project. “As it turns out, it’s not a closed project at Sony, although it doesn’t appear to be one the studio is heavily pursuing,” says the article. “Nonetheless, we understand that it is still welcoming pitches for a further RoboCop venture. Our source confirmed that Sony hasn’t shut the project down, although it doesn’t appear to be a high priority.”

••• Heroic Hollywood claims that the trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse will debut with The Martian, so another good reason to see the Ridley Scott movie at the cinema.

izombie_bradley_james••• Merlin and iZombie star Bradley James has been cast in Underworld 5 as the main villain. The cast that includes Kate Beckinsale as Selene, Divergent’s Theo James as David and Outlander’s Tobias Menzies. [via Deadline]

••• Latino Review (a site which has a good record with rumours that turn out to be true) is reporting that start of production on Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim 2 has been delayed from this November to some undisclosed time in 2016.

••• The Hollywood Reporter has published the first official publicity photo from SFv1, featuring Daniel MacPherson and Kellan Lutz in action. Lutz stars as a mysterious drifter who teams with an off-world military contractor (MacPherson) amid a global crisis. The film is directed by Australian Shane Abbess (Infini).


••• Game Of Thrones was one of the biggest winners at the Creative Arts Emmys Awards on Saturday night walking away with eight gongs. They were for:

  • Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Drama Series
