Ruper Wyatt Leaves Gambit Movie Over Scheduling Issues

Director Rupert Wyatt (Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes) has departed Twentieth Century Fox’s Channing Tatum-starring X-Men-universe movie Gambit movie because of scheduling issues, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“I was very much looking forward to working with my friend Channing and the team at Fox,” says Wyatt in a press release, “but regrettably a push in the start date now conflicts with another project. I thank them for the opportunity, and I know that Gambit will make a terrific film.”

One source tells The Hollywood Reporter that the shooting schedule around another of Wyatt’s projects, Mardi Gras, caused the departure. Another source claims that a changes to the script caused the film’s budget to expand, thus causing an extension to the shoot.

Currently Gambit has a UK release date on 7 October 2016. Will the alleged delays and search for a new director cause it to be pushed further back?
