BUZZ News Shorts: Jenna Coleman leaves Doctor Who Update, Game Of Thrones, Star Trek Beyond & More

••• It’s official. After days of speculation it seems that Jenna Coleman has confirmed she is really leaving Doctor Who this time as she nabs herself a leading role in ITV’s historical drama Victoria as the young queen. She has described Clara’s departure as “emotional” and has even hinted that it may not occur at the very end of the series, saying with studied vagueness, “it will happen at some point this season.” That could be a piece of deliberate misdirection, but hey, it’s nice for once not to know in advance you’re watching a character’s “final” episode. She also says that she and Steven Moffat “worked out a really good story arc, so hopefully people will love it,” about a year and a half ago.

••• Paramount has moved the US release date of Star Trek Beyond back by two weeks to 22 July 2016. It’ll now open on the same date as Fox’s next Ice Age sequel and Warner’s Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur, though the latter may move, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The new date will apparently let the next Trek movie have better coverage on IMAX screens.

••• Here’s a little behind-the-scenes sneak peek at the Peanuts movie that’s coming out later in the year.

••• Three more members of Clan Tarly have been cast for season six of Game Of Thrones. Joining the previously announced Freddie Stroma (UnREAL) as Sam’s brother Dickon Tarly are James Faulkner (Downton Abbey) as Sam’s father Randyll Tarly, Samantha Spiro as Sam’s mother Melessa Tarly and Rebecca Benson as his sister Talla.
