Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Play Will Now Be In Two Parts

JK Rowling has taken to Twitter to announced that the forthcoming Harry Potter West End theatre production, Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, will now be a two-part project.

Later, on Pottermore,  director John Tiffany added, “I’ve never worked on anything quite like this before. Usually in theater you’re adapting existing material or creating an entirely new play. With the Cursed Child we have been given the unique opportunity to explore some of the most cherished books and beloved characters ever written, yet work with JK Rowling to tell a story from that world that no one yet knows – it’s exhilarating.”

The play is expected to open next summer, and little is known about the plot except that Harry isn’t the cursed child and that the story isn’t a prequel. It is being written for stage by Jack Thorne (The Fades, This Is England).

There’s already an official website for the show – harrypottertheplay.com – where you can sign up for a priority booking list. This website will also be the official voice of the show (alongside Pottermore) as more information becomes available.
