••• Director Danny Boyle still hasn’t ruled out returning to the world of 28 Days Later, (even though he didn’t direct the sequel 28 Weeks Later), telling Indie Wire, “It’s the usual thing: is it’s not about whether people think it’s a good idea that you’re directing. It’s whether you respond to the script or not. It’s just like on Steve Jobs. I got the script and I went, ‘That was amazing. I hope I can add to that somehow and it be even better than just the experience of reading it.’”

Dino-Riders

••• According to The Tracking Board, Mattel is developing a big-screen adaptation of the popular 1980s Tyco toy line Dino-Riders. Apparently Mattel has teamed up with Solipsist Film, a small Los Angeles-based company involved in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.

••• Variety reports that MGM’s remake of WarGames will be an interactive video that allows viewers to decide the outcome. The studio has partnered with interactive-video company Interlude on the digital project, targeted for release next year. Plot details are still being worked out.

••• Disney/Pixar have released some gorgeous production art from the short Sanjay’s Super Team that will accompany The Good Dinosaur when it’s released next month. Sanjay’s Super Team is directed and written by Sanjay Patel, who has spent more than 20 years working in animation, beginning at Pixar on A Bug’s Life. In Sanjay’s Super Team, Patel relates a personal story about his relationship with his father and a childhood caught his father’s deep reverence for Hinduism and his own love of western culture, particularly superhero cartoons. The Super Team of the title is a cartoon young Sanjay watches featuring three different Hindu deities: the monkey-like Hanuman, the goddess of power and protection Durga, and the blue-skinned Vishnu, who represents preservation. We can already hear a clamour for a film/TV series based on the idea! Click on all images for larger versions.
