••• Lionsgate is making a film adaptation of the Double Take comic series Z-Men written by Jeff McComsey. The official synopsis for the comic reveals: “It’s 1966 and the Oval Office is in an uproar; there’s been a spree of mass murders in Western Pennsylvania (and reports of the dead returning to life). President Lyndon B Johnson assigns the head of the Secret Service to send agents into the field to investigate. Agents Stuart and Clancy are given the opportunity to serve their country and see if the zombie apocalypse has indeed begun.” [via Coming Soon]

••• According to Deadline Paramount is halting its plans for a sequel to Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters in favour of a television series. Paramount has previously announced Bruno Aveillan would be directing the film, so await an official statement before being too excited/disappointed.

••• William Shatner has been cast as the narrator for an animated horror feature film called Malevolent, about four siblings who are called home by their evil, estranged father who’s on his death bed. He leads them to believe he is going to announce his will but he actually has more evil plans for his offspring, plans that go awry when some intergalactic gamblers start waging bets on the outcome. ••• Yippee ki yoh dear! Fox is prepping a sixth Die Hard movie with Bruce Willis reprising his role of John McClane, but a different actor coming in to play the younger version of the character. Live Free Or Die Hard director Len Wiseman and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura are developing the project, which is said to be a prequel set in 1979. [via The Hollywood Reporter]
