BUZZ News Shorts: Constantine, Hotel Transylvania 3, Star Wars: The Force Awakens & More

••• Matt Ryan has recorded a thank you message to Constantine fans for in the week that his much-loved character will be making his guest appearance on Arrow (in the States; we have to wait until next week here in the UK). It’s actually a bit of a shock to be reminded how very, very Welsh Ryan is in real life.  You know what? We could have handled a Welsh Constantine.

••• Fox is having a second attempt at rebooting ’80s cult TV hit Greatest American Hero (a show that’s a legend in the US but never shown in the UK) after a pilot failed to fly last year. A comedy series about a reluctant superhero, the reimagining hails from Dope writer-director Rick Famuyiwa, along with Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street) and Tawnia McKiernan, the daughter of the producer behind the original show Steven J Cannell. Rami Malek••• Mr Robot star Rami Malek has landed his first lead movie role in the intriguing-sounding Buster’s Mal Heart. he will play an eccentric mountain man on the run from authorities who survives the winter by breaking into empty vacation homes. He’s haunted by a recurring dream of being lost at sea only to discover that the dream is real: He is one man in two bodies. This is the story of how he split in two. The film also stars Kate Lyn Sheil (House Of Cards), DJ Qualls (The Man In The High Castle) and Toby Huss (Halt And Catch Fire). It’s directed by Sarah Adina Smith, whose first film, The Midnight Swim, was a genre-bending mystery that won top prizes at the Nashville Film Festival, Sun Valley Film Festival and Starz! Denver Film Festival.

••• After the sequel performed even better at the international box office than its predecessor (and, indeed, is still in the top five movies at the US box office six weeks after release), Sony Pictures Animation has announced hat Hotel Transylvania 3 has been given the green light! It even has a premier date already: 22 September 2018. Director of the first two movies, Genndy Tartakovsky, has indicated that he will not return for the third film. [via Coming Soon]
