BUZZ News Shorts: Mad Max, Deadpool, Black Panther, Game Of Thrones & More

Daenerys-Targaryen••• Emilia Clarke: Mother Of Hyping? Game Of Thrones’ dragon lady couldn’t be accused of underselling her opinion about how the show will resolve the issue of whether Jon Snow is dead or not. “It’s going to be big,” she tells EW. “The biggest moments on television that have ever existed.” Blimey.

••• Mad Max: Fury Road director George Miller has told Page 6 that he won’t be directing any more Mad Max films. “I won’t make more ‘Mad Max’ movies. Fury Road was forever getting completed. If you finish one in a year, it’s considered a leap of faith. Start, stop, start again. I’ve shot in Australia in a field of wild flowers and flat red earth when it rained heavily forever. We had to wait 18 months and every return to the US was 27 hours. Those Mad Maxes take forever. I won’t do those anymore.” However, as Coming Soon points out, just a few days ago, Miller was slightly less adamant in an in interview with Studio 360 when discussing possible future Mad Max films: “What happened to Max after Fury Road? What happened before Fury Road? What happened to the other characters? Those stories are there — probably not as the next film but the film after. I’d like to do one of them. We’ll see. As John Lennon said, life is what happens when you’re making other plans. There are so many other directors out there. People are directing younger and younger. They’re getting a real sense of cinema very, very early. There are some great directors out there.”

••• Fox has released two new images from Deadpool, one of them showing Deadpool rescuing a cat from a tree in what we really hope is a piss-take of the montage “doing superhero stuff” sequence from Superman The Movie.

••• Saban Brands and Nickelodeon have revealed that the 24th season of Power Rangers, which will debut in the States in 2017, will be called Power Rangers Ninja Steel. It starts deep in space, where Zircon is the reigning champion of the most popular intergalactic game show in the universe, and monsters battle to prove who is the mightiest warrior. Zircon is determined to become invincible by controlling the mythical Spirit Crystal, which contains six supernatural Ninja Power Throwing Stars. The only thing standing in his way is a new team of heroic teenage Power Rangers who possess the Spirit Crystal. The evil Zircon sends his warrior contestants to Earth to steal the Crystal and each battle against the Rangers is broadcast throughout the universe. [via Coming Soon]

••• The BBC’s entertainment correspondent Lizo Mzimba grabs a red-carpet interview with the just-announced director of Marvel’s Black Panther, Ryan Coogler.

••• Seems like when we got The Walking Dead star Ross Marquand to do commit his Christopher Walken impression to film at the MCM London Comic Con in October (see here), we started a trend…
