In Daredevil season two, “you will fall in love with Elodie Yung as Elektra, and she will break your heart, because that’s what Elektra does to people.” So promises Jeph Loeb, executive vice president of Marvel’s TV division. He’s a man who’s clearly very excited by the second small screen outing Netflx for the Man Without Fear.

“If you love season one, you’re going to love season two,” he promises ComicBook.com. “I just think people are going to be incredibly delighted by the story that Doug [Petrie] and Marco [Ramirez] and the writing staff came up with for this season… What’s fantastic about the story is, is that it’s created this enormous division in his life, because the woman that he once loved has returned, and she certainly has some issues with morality, and how you get the job done, and going on the other end of the spectrum is Frank Castle, who believes that justice needs to be served in a particular way.”

As well as Elektra season two also introduces Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, and Loeb is equally impressed by Jon Bernthal’s portrayal of the vigilante.  “His Punisher is extraordinarily memorable, in every way.”

The season will concentrate of Matt Murdock’s personal quest to find out what it means to be a hero, reveals Loeb. “For Matt, who believes in the law, the question of whether or not he is a vigilante, and whether or not that makes him the same as [Elektra and the Punisher] is something that will drive the story, and will drive Matt. And in his performance, Charlie Cox will really raise some hard questions: when you decide to put on a mask and go out and seek justice, and you are not somebody who the law sees as someone who should be doing that job, how do you get away with that?”
