Two Wongs Make The Right Manservant For Doctor Strange Movie

The role of Doctor Strange’s trusty manservant from the comics, Wong, has gone his namesake, The Martian actor Benedict Wong, for the movie based on Marvel Sorcerer Supreme. Which also means there’s two Benedicts on the film (Cumberbatch and Wong), a rare and occult occurrence in itself. Must be an omen.

Wong first appeared  “Strange Tales” #110 (1963). In the comics he was a disciple of the Ancient One who was sent to America to assist Dr Stephen Strange on his journey through the mystic arts.

Benedict Wong, also appeared in Prometheus and plays as Kublai Khan on Netflix’s Marco Polo. Wonder if he’ll shave his head?

Doctor Strange, which is currently set for release in the UK on 28 October 2016, also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) as Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton (Only Lovers Left Alive) as The Ancient One, Rachel McAdams (The Vow), Michael Stuhlbarg (Pawn Sacrifice), Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum), Amy Landecker (Transparent), and Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal).
