BUZZ News Shorts: Bates Motel, Zootopia, 24: Legacy & More

••• There’s an elephant in the room in this new clip from Disney’s Zootopia.

Miranda_otto••• Miranda Otto (Homeland, The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers & Return Of The King) has been cast in Fox’s 24: Legacy, opposite Straight Outta Compton’s Corey Hawkins. Otto will star as Rebecca Ingram, the smart former head of CTU. Now married to Senator John Donovan, she struggles with second thoughts about having left the counter-terrorism agency. [via The Hollywood Reporter]

••• Jeffrey Dean Morgan revealed on US chat show Late Night with Seth Meyers that at least one person wasn’t happy with his casting as the villainous Negan in The Walking Dead – his mum. But not because her son was going to be playing a potty-mouthed psycho. “When I took the show, [my mother] was like, ‘What does this mean with The Good Wife?” Morgan says referring to the role he was playing in that role. “She was devastated that it could be the end. I was like, ‘Mom, keep your pants on. We’ll see what happens.’” He went on to say, “Negan’s a game changer. It’s a complete 180 from what I’m doing on The Good Wife, which – as an actor – is a dream come true. I get to be the biggest ass in the world.” [via ComicBookResources]

••• Zack Snyder has told Empire that he asked Dark Knight trilogy Christopher Nolan for his blessing to direct Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.  “You tell me if you don’t want me to do it,” Snyder says he asked Nolan. Nolan apparently did eventually respond after what is described as “a silence” but the blessing sounds a bit non-commital. “‘Well, we don’t own these characters,’” Snyder recalled Nolan saying. “‘When you’re done making Batman movies, someone else will [make them].]” Snyder goes on to say that he thinks that Nolan found the experience, “a little bit hard… I would feel the same way.”

••• Here’s an unnerving poster for Bates Motel season four. Would you at this man’s motel?
