Batman V Superman To Get An R-Rated Cut… But Only On Blu-ray

Batman_v_superman_batman_imageWell, we might as well give in to the inevitable: thanks to the success of Deadpool the next five years are going to be an endless conveyor belt of news stories about R-rated comic book films (indeed, we’ve heard a few already – see here).

We dread to think what’ll happen if anyone decides to remake Howard The Duck with its infamous inferred duck/human intercourse scene – it might not remain quite so inferred. Shudder.

Anyway, quick off the block is Warner Bros’ Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Yes, there’s going to a more extreme, violent cut of this year’s second most anticipated superhero smackdown. But no, you’re not going to be able to see it at the local multiplex.

Instead, according to Coming Soon the Batman v Superman R-rated cut is going to be available on an upcoming Blu-ray edition titled the Dawn Of Justice Ultimate Edition which will contain extended “sequences of violence.”

So it’s not being R-rated for a Wonder Woman/Batman/Superman threesome scene, then? Shame.

Oh, and click on the new Batman image from the film for a much larger version.
