Thats right, France is once again hosting one of the most sough after K-pop and Korean entertainment events that has swept Korean music fans in America – And most recently Dubai and Japan. With a very impressive line up, fans around Europe have the chance to see F(x), FTISLAND, SHINee, Block B, I.O.I, and BTS all on one stage performing their much loved singles as well as some special performances – it was also announced that Super Junior’s Leeteuk will be making an appearance as the special MC
CJ E&M announced that “KCON 2016 France” will be a very special event particularly due to the fact that this will be I.O.I’s first overseas performance. Thursday June 2nd is the date set for the event, and it will be held at the Accor Hotel Arena (AKA: Palais Omnisports De Bercy, Paris) – The same venue where “Music Bank Paris” took place back in 2011. Shin Hyung-gwan, a CJ E&M official overseeing the festival, stated “We are organizing KCON in both K-pop’s frontier markets like Europe and the Middle East and the world’s No. 1 and 2 content markets, the U.S. and Japan. We will try our best to help other industries like manufacturing, healthcare and education to grow with culture, and establish culture as a key growth engine for South Korea. To commemorate 130 years of Korea-France diplomatic relations Kcon is being held in France to show their strong relations even in today’s day and age. But its not just about the concert, in addition to the evening K-pop concert, there will be a small convention to exhibit and experience various aspects of Korean culture throughout the day.
