HBO has released the titles and (very brief) synopses for episodes two and three of Game Of Thrones season six, and we can expect the return of long MIA Bran in a big way. And possibly White Walkers.
Episode two is called “Home” and is described as follows: “Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) trains with the Three-Eyed Raven (Max von Sydow). In King’s Landing, Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) advises Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman). Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) demands good news, but has to make his own. At Castle Black, the Night’s Watch stands behind Thorne (Owen Teale). Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) proposes a plan, and Balon Greyjoy (Patrick Malahide) entertains other proposals.”
Episode three is called “Oathbreaker” in which “Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) meets her future. Bran meets the past. Tommen confronts the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce). Arya (Maisie Williams) trains to be No One. Varys (Conleth Hill) finds an answer. Ramsay gets a gift.” (Hmmm… we’re thinking – maybe hoping – that “a gift” is a euphemism for something much nastier.)
As various fansites have pointed out both episode titles appear to allude to two of the show’s significant White Walker-heavy episodes so far: season five’s “Hardhome” (big bloody battle) and season four’s “Oathkeeper” (which featured the first appearance of the Night’s King). Also, trailers for season six have hinted heavily that the White Walkers are going to play a big part in the Bran storyline.
Only a week until we find out. In the meantime, read our review of the season six premier here.
