Looks like there’ll be a slightly different set of Legends for season two of DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow. TVLine has learned that casting is now underway for two new series regular roles, to debut next season. One will be a “Han Solo-like” character with superpowers and a female African-American soldier from the 1940s.
They will join the previously-announced Patrick J Adams (Suits) who has been cast a “fun character the fans will love” who will debut in the season one finale “Legendary” before becoming a recurring character in season two.
TV Line describes the two new character as follows:
• A male in his late-20s to mid-30s who grew up in the shadow of his World War II hero grandfather and has used a Han Solo-like facade to conceal his insecurity – until, that is, the development of super powers enables him to live up to his family legacy.
• The female member of an elite paramilitary team living in the 1940s. An African-American, she is scrutinised in her time for both her gender and race and thus has worked twice as hard to be a perfect soldier. That said, she blames herself for – and aims to avenge – the death of a team member for whom she had repressed feelings.
Presumably will turn out to be existing DCs characters but though the character bios contain a good deal of info there are no clinchers when it comes to determining their superhero identities, though many fans are suggesting Lady Blackhawk (or one of the Blackhawks) for the second one with the presumption that Hawkgirl is on her way out. As for the Han Solo-alike, possibilities include Hourman, Damage and Citizen Steel.
