As one of the few people to emerge from the mess that was Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice with any dignity and positive critical comments, Ben Affleck’s influence over the DC shared movie universe continues to grow.
According to Deadline, Affleck has just signed on to serve as an executive producer for Warner Bros’ upcoming Justice League movie, in which he will also star as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The article reports that he will work with director Zack Snyder and screenwriter Chris Terrio to “make the film the best he can”.
Now the snaky response to that would be convincing Zack Snyder to give it a miss might be the best advice. However, Deadline reckons that Affleck had a good working relationship with Snyder on Dawn Of Justice, and “Affleck is doing this to be supportive of Snyder”. But having an Oscar-winning writing and director who appears totally invested in his character on the creative team helping to push the DC movie universe forward must be a good thing, surely.
Affleck is also developing his own solo Batman movie that he will co-write, direct and star in.
