The latest cast member to join the cast of the upcoming, live-action remake of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is Ian McKellen, Entertainment Weekly reports. McKellen will take on the role of the Beast’s over-anxious clock, Cogsworth. Already something of a hero in fantasy and genre cinema thanks to his key parts in the Lord of the Rings and X-Men franchises, McKellen has a huge fanbase among young movie fans and his involvement in Beauty...

Following the lead of the recent Doctor Who celebrations in efforts to hype up a TV show in style, the start date for Series 3 of Sherlock – Wednesday 1st January 2014 – was announced yesterday, with a hearse driving around London displaying the date in flowers. Sherlock co-creator Mark Gatiss also tweeted a mock obituary for the show’s title character: “Sherlock Holmes, consulting detective. Much missed by friends & family....

Warner Bros have released a new second trailer for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. As well as featuring more explosions and gunfire than a Die Hard marathon, there’s the now expected Baritsu and the sound of E.S Posthumous’ Unstoppable, as well as the unexpected cross dressing, face slapping and a glimpse of Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler. It doesn’t get any better than this.  When the Crown Prince of Austria is found dead Sherlock Holmes...

The character posters came just a few days ago, and now comes the first trailer for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. The trailer shows that we can expect more action in the way of Baritsu, cannon fire, explosions and pipe smoking, as well as an excess of slow motion shots. It’s all played to the sounds of E.S. Posthumus’ Unstoppable, reworked to epic effect. Holmes is also seen disguised as a woman, possibly referencing Arthur Conan Doyle’s...
