Kick-Ass 2 Review

Kick-Ass 2 Review
One could be apprehensive to see the job of directing the sequel of 2010 hit Kick-Ass passed from Matthew Vaughn to Jeff Wadlow – whose last feature was 2008’s Never Back Down – but breathe a sigh of relief, for Kick-Ass 2 isn’t that bad. It’s actually quite a solid flick.  Taking the story of 2010’s Kick-Ass onwards, the sequel follows Dave Lizewski (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Mindy Macreedy (Chloë Grace Moretz) who have effectively...

Kick-Ass 2 Red-Band Trailer

Kick-Ass 2 Red-Band Trailer
2010’s motion picture adaptation of the Mark Millar/John Romita, Jr. comic book Kick-Ass was a refreshing hit in this world of comic book movies, adapted from a much more recent series that took a more postmodern, brutal take on the idea of costumed vigilantes. With a few minor changes, X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn alongside writer Jane Goldman helped adapt Kick-Ass for the screen, turning it into a gleeful cinematic change of pace...

Made on a production budget of $30 million, the film managed to gross $96 million worldwide. Vaughn is unable to direct, for he is committed...

Fright Night review

Fright Night review
There have been plenty of horror remakes during the last decade, and while listing all the pointless cash grabs would leave me with no space to write the rest of this review, few have been commendable. I have seen the original Fright Night; a good film but I don’t hold it in such high regard. Sampling the remake, you can’t help but bring your knowledge of the original along, and afterwards you can’t help but compare the two. A bit like ruining...

Fright Night Character Posters

Fright Night Character Posters
DreamWorks are going all out with their remake of Fright Night, having released a set of UK character posters. Apart from “bad neighbour” Jerry, the main characters are all seen wielding a weapon. Best of all, David Tennant gets his own poster as the gothic magician turned vampire killer, Peter Vincent. With a shotgun over his shoulder and stocked up on shotgun shells and stakes, he looks positively badass! The film tells of high schooler Charlie...

New Fright Night trailer and poster

New Fright Night trailer and poster
It’s time to find your faith as you wield your crucifix; for DreamWorks have released a new trailer and poster for their remake of Fright Night. Whereas the original film was set in a small quiet town, the action now takes place in Las Vegas, since that’s clearly the ideal hangout for any vampire. To support the trailer DreamWorks have also released the following synopsis: “Senior Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) finally has it all—he’s...
