Keiji Inafune and the Sense of Speed: Mighty No. 9 at MCM London Comic Con

Keiji Inafune and the Sense of Speed: Mighty No. 9 at MCM London Comic Con
Twenty-eight years ago, the world of console video games changed forever when Capcom released Mega Man for the NES back in 1987. The series since then has had its highs and lows, but the classic style and pace of the original game are fondly remembered. Now, a true successor has risen to carry the torch of the old-school classic so many people fell in love with: Mighty No. 9, a game by Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune, inheriting the same platform...

Saints Row IV Review

Saints Row IV Review
Saints Row IV is possibly the most over the top, self indulgent and egotistical game I have ever played, but I love it for that. It’s a game that never takes itself too seriously or boxes itself in, instead revelling in the absurdity of its own concept and pushing it to extremes. The opening has you climbing an already launched nuclear missile to an Aerosmith soundtrack, becoming President, having to choose between curing cancer or ending world...

One-Off Million Dollar Pack of Saints Row IV up for Pre-Order

One-Off Million Dollar Pack of Saints Row IV up for Pre-Order
Deep Silver has unveiled an incredibly limited (and very expensive), special edition of Saints Row IV. In fact, there is only one Super Dangerous Wad Wad Edition of Saints Row IV available. Also known as “The Million Dollar Pack of Saints Row IV,” as the title suggests this comes at a cost of $1 million (which is somewhere in the region of £640,000). So what do you get for your $1 million? Well for a start you do get the Commander in Chief Edition...

Second Killer is Dead trailer toasts the executioners

Second Killer is Dead trailer toasts the executioners
From Kadokawa Games comes a new and even more crazier trailer for Suda51’s Killer is Dead. Set during a not-so-distant future, players control Mondo Zappa, an executioner who travels across the world to kill criminals. He does so with a unique artificial arm that allows him to change between various weapons. Described as a story of “love and execution” there’s obviously a bit more going on here than just mindless killing. Playing to the sounds...

Catherine slips to 2012 for the UK

Catherine slips to 2012 for the UK
Back in July it was announced that Deep Silver would be distributing Atlus’ critically acclaimed Catherine across Europe for a release sometime this year. Now comes news from MCV that the game has now been delayed till the first quarter of 2012. Strangely no reason has been given for the delay, though it might be possible that Deep Silver don’t want the game to be lost amid the bigger releases, such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield...

Catherine review

Catherine review
Fed up with the same old first-person shooters, sport simulations and beat-em-ups? Why not cheat on your girlfriend for change? Rated M for Mature upon its release in America, Catherine is a game that actually lives up to that rating. It may have a sexually provocative exterior (likely a clever ploy to get guys to fork over the cash), but there isn’t any onscreen sex or nudity. Deep down this is a game that tackles complex issues about relationships,...

Catherine gets a passport to Europe

Catherine gets a passport to Europe
Atlus’ quirky title Catherine has been subject to much discussion, with the game’s risque sexual themes and provocative box art leaving many gamers thinking that Catherine may never make it to Europe.  Atlus, the game’s publisher posted this very cryptic tweet out late last night. “Catherine is getting her passport in order… #whatcouldthismean.” This news comes after Atlus told Joystiq that they were...
